Embrace Life. Stay Connected.

The Clarence Senior CEnter

The Clarence Senior Center, Inc.

Our Mission

The mission of the Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. is to provide social, recreational, educational, and nutritional programs, as well as opportunities for volunteerism, to persons in the community who are age fifty-five and older.

Our Vision

We will be recognized as an organization that provides the widest possible variety of programming and services that meet the changing needs and interests of Clarence seniors in comfortable and welcoming state of the art facilities.

Our Center

The Clarence Senior Center began in 1981 as a small department nestled within the beautiful Town of Clarence. The Center was created after there was a huge swing in Senior Center development in the 1970's in America.  The CSC operated this way for the first four years, but in 1985 it became its own not-for-profit corporation, called Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. Through this change and over almost four decades, the CSC and the Town of Clarence have maintained a very close relationship. The town provides much needed support through building and ground maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and a stipend to support basic operations.

Service to Our Members

The CSC is dedicated to serving our members by providing programs and services in a friendly atmosphere dedicated to enjoyable social opportunities and enhance quality of life. Embrace life and stay connected with us through The Clarence Senior Center!

Non-profit

The Clarence Senior Center, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.  Tax EIN #16-1245799

Activities & Programs

The Clarence Senior Center offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all kinds of interests. Stay healthy in one of our many exercise programs, brush up on your dance steps, join a sewing group, or try your hand at woodworking. Enjoy a lively hand of cards, play shuffleboard, billiards, dominoes, or bocce. You can also listen to interesting and educational speakers, take fun-filled day trips around WNY and outside the area, or simply enjoy a quiet conversation with a friend or two. In addition to weekly classes and activities, numerous special events are held at the Center throughout the year. All this and more is offered at the CSC! Be sure to check out the current edition of our newsletter, The Silver Streak to see what’s happening each month.

Activity & Program Schedule

Nutritious Meals

The CSC is an Erie County Nutrition Program Dining Site open to Erie County residents 60 or older and their spouses. We offer lunches Monday through Friday as part of our Stay Fit Dining Program, as well as dinner Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meals are prepared by a nutrition coordinator and sent to the center where they are prepared by our kitchen staff and volunteers.

Meals are well-balanced, healthy, and nutritious, with consideration being given to those who have special dietary needs. Meals are ordered in advance and supplied by the Erie County Congregate Dining Program. Special luncheons with entertainment are also held throughout the year! A donation of $3.50 is suggested per meal.

Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance and can be made by calling 716-633-5138 or by stopping in the office. If you have a reservation and can’t make it, please let us know.

Frozen Meals to Eat at Home

The Erie County Stay Fit Dining Program is pleased to offer 3 or 5 pack frozen meals at the Clarence Senior Center. These are frozen meals provided through the Frozen Congregate Meal Program. Milk and dessert are included with each meal.

A contribution of $3.50 per meal ($10.50 per 3-pack, $17.50 per 5-pack) is suggested, but any amount is appreciated and goes towards the improvement of the meals. Your contribution will be collected when you pick up your meals.

Reservations must be called in to our office at 716-633-5138 by 11:00 AM on the Wednesday of each week preceding the week of pick up. Meals are available for pick up each Monday (except holidays) and can be delivered if requested (Clarence locations only).

The 3 meal and 5 meal per week options come as a clearly labeled “meal pack” with reheating directions. Entree items include selections such as meatballs and gravy, pulled pork, chicken breasts, chicken tenders, and various other healthy and delicious meals that have been tested and freeze well.

This program is available to all seniors of Erie County aged 60 and over.
